Athletics4Kids is a registered Canadian charity that ensures that all children in BC can participate in amateur sports by providing financial assistance through registration fees for kids 5-18 years old. Through our Sport4Life Grant Program, we work discreetly with families facing financial challenges to ensure that their children have the chance to play

A grant that covers up to 100% of the sports registration fee. These fees are paid by Athletics4Kids directly to the sports organization. A child may receive up to $450 in a 12 month period for one or more eligible sports as long as they don’t run concurrently.

There are three elements that must be fulfilled for a child to be eligible for a Sport4Life Grant:

1. Child must be between 5-18 years old and enrolled in school.

2. Child must be from a family with a net taxable family income of under $45,000, on social assistance, or be in foster care regardless of foster family income.

3. Child must be applying to participate in one of our 55 eligible amateur sports in BC. These sports are not school run programs.

• Since 2002, Athletics4Kids has provided over $2.7 million through over 13,000 Sport4Life Grants. This has enabled thousands of kids across BC to participate in amateur sport.

• The average grant we provide is $200 per year.

• In 2023, the top five sports that we funded were soccer (261), martial arts (197), gymnastics (168), hockey (76) and basketball (63).
