Meet Vihan: Athlete of the Month

This month, Athletics4Kids is proud to introduce Vihan as May’s Athlete of the Month.

Vihan is a dedicated young soccer player who jumped into action shortly after arriving in Canada from Iran less than a year ago. Wasting no time, he joined the North Vancouver Football Club (NVFC) and brought his energy and commitment to every practice. His love for the game began at age eight, inspired by top players and fueled by a strong work ethic.

Early in his journey, Vihan was often underestimated as a center back due to his size - but through hard work, he proved just how capable he is. “I’ve learned that you always need to stay in your ready position and keep pushing until the final minute,” he says. “To me, that means I should give my best whenever I have a chance.”

His father has seen the impact sport has had on him, sharing, “Being active brings him so much joy and confidence. Soccer has helped him grow not just as an athlete, but as a person.”
