July Athlete of the Month - Maria Karpova  A4K’s Athlete of the Month for July is Maria Karpova, a track and field competitor who recently won gold in high jump. Maria joined track and field after many years in competitive dance. She is enjoying her new team. Maria finds that everyone is so helpful and that her teammates and coaches have helped her improve her skills far beyond what she could have done by herself. Congratulations to Maria! West Van Lawn Bowling Classic 
Our first annual West Van Lawn Bowling Classic is set to take place on the 15th of August at the beautiful West Vancouver Lawn Bowling club and boy are we ever excited about this! Great food and refreshments, super prizing and a fantastic night of competition and fun! Huge thanks to Matt Cavelti and Jaimie Milliken for spearheading this initiative and creating their own signature event to help kids from low income families play the sports they love!!! The A4K Charity Golf Invitational to be held at Quilchena Golf & Country Club on August 10th has sold out! A huge thanks to all our sponsors, partners, and golfers for joining us at the second annual A4K charity golf invitational. Special thanks to our host Quilchena Golf & Country Club and to the great folks at our presenting sponsor, Staub Electronics, who have once again spearheaded an amazing event. Shout-out to Jasper van Weelderen! A4K sends a very special shout-out to Jasper Van Weelderen, a wonderful young man who is gathering his friends and family to help support Athletics for Kids, in his Bar-Mitzvah year; he is truly giving back to his community in a huge way and should be commended for his efforts. In celebration, he is having a special day skimboarding at Spanish Banks, and we wish him and all his friends and family, a wonderful time! Huge congratulations to Jasper and all the best for the coming year! |

 Athletics For Kids is participating in the Odlum Brown Van Open Tennis Championships and will be on site at Hollyburn Country Club between the 19th and 21st of August. Come by for a visit on Kids' Day August 19th in the main concourse and buy a raffle ticket to support A4K.
