January Athlete of the Month- MAYA MISCEVIC As we welcome in the New Year, we are excited to welcome a new Athlete of the Month. Maya Miscevic is a 9 year-old female karate student from Burnaby. She has such a positive attitude towards her peers, training, and life in general.Maya was named the Top Female Competitorat Chito Ryu Yuseikan Karate at the end of 2014. Her brother Milos, who was named the Overall Top Student, shares Maya’s competitive nature and they challenge each other to succeed. Whether karate is in their genes, or Maya is consciously ambitious to be the best karate student possible, A4K is proud to recognize Maya Miscevic as the January Athlete of the Month. 2014 Recap from the Executive Director2014 was an exciting year at A4K with over 800 sports grants distributed to the kids of BC; we continued to build wonderful relationships with over 300 amateur athletics organizations and put children and youth into over 40 different sports (team and individual pursuits) across the Province.
Over the past year, we took part in some fabulous events including our signature Boxing Gala and the inaugural A4K/Staub Electronics Golf Invitational. Thank you to all of the businesses and organizations that held events and chose A4K as their charitable recipient! We were honoured to be chosen by Hockey Canada as one of three charities to receive funds arising out of their annual Gala, and are thankful to all our community partners, corporate sponsors and fabulous individuals who support our youth sports granting program. We are looking forward to an even bigger and better 2015, and are very excited at some of the planning that is already happening for the year ahead! |

The fundraiser is open to the public and guests will find themselves meeting CFL Players like Bo Palmer who are coming out to support the Club. Raffles and 50/50s will add to the fun. And since the event on February 11 is just in time for Valentine’s Day, Marble Slab Creamery will have mini V-Day ice-cream cakes on sale for your sweetie! We encourage all to stop by after work or after dinner to ensure the North Shore Dolphins Dive Club have a successful fundraiser.
