Athletics for Kids has been very fortunate to have some community groups remember a loved one with a tribute sporting event from which the proceeds benefit the kids of A4K. A4K wants to recognize the following events that have contributed to the charity:

Andrew Koch Memorial Soccer Tournament

Every July, tournament organizers Ben Konkin and Shaun Eldridge organize a fundraising soccer tournament in North Vancouver to honour their late friend Andrew Koch. The first year of the event was 2009 and now the tournament is an annual occasion where friends and family of Andrew and soccer enthusiasts gather for a day of soccer and a few cold ones in the sun.

To date the event has raised over $5000.

Debbie Cooper Cup

The Juan de Fuca Minor Hockey Association have dedicated an annual minor hockey tournament to Debbie Cooper, a very important part of their association. “The Ice Queen” or “Social Director” as she was fondly known was an intricate part of JDFMH.

Each March since 2010, JDF Minor Hockey has hosted a fun end-of-year tournament from which the proceeds are donated to A4K, a cause of which Debbie was very fond. To date, the tournament has raised nearly $25,000!
