Val is a senior manager in the Private Enterprise Group of a leading CA firm in downtown Vancouver. She has been part of the firm for 24 years and specializes in small to medium sized owner-managed businesses, providing services in corporate, personal, estate and trust taxation.
Val, her husband and two children reside on the North Shore. Their two girls actively participate in a variety of sports including soccer, hockey, field hockey and basketball. Val has played an active role in their sports where she has acted as a team manager and/or treasurer for soccer, hockey and field hockey for the past 7 years.
“Having two kids of our own, I have truly seen what sports can do to children’s lives. I believe that giving children the opportunity to participate in sports helps build their self-esteem and contributes to their social development as they grow, not to mention keeping them on the ‘right path’. Unfortunately there are many families who cannot afford to put their children in sports programs and experience the same thrill and excitement as some of their friends may be experiencing.”
Also active in sports herself, she enjoys jogging, mountain biking and playing soccer.
