Director
Sandy joined the board of A4K in 2007 after attending one of our fundraising events and becoming interested in the work that we do. As a mother of two active boys, she recognizes the opportunities for not only the physical growth and challenge that come through sport, but the mental and emotional benefits as well. She believes passionately that every child deserves the chance to play, to be part of a team, and to stretch to reach their fullest potential.
“I see it first hand in my own children. That smile when the ball goes in the net, the fist pump when the team succeeds, the willingness to pick themselves back up when the game doesn’t go their way – those are the lessons that make them stronger in all areas of their lives. It all comes through play, through the pure joy of just being part of a team.”
A former advertising account director for several Vancouver agencies, Sandy has retired to a life of raising her two school age sons and actively volunteering in her local community with minor hockey, baseball and soccer.
