Neptune Terminals Continues Support of Swimming Lessons for Kids
With the 2012 London Olympics just weeks away and Canada’s top athletes taking to the turf and to the pool, Athletics for Kids was happy to learn that Neptune Terminals will continue with their support of A4K with a $5000 donation to put kids into swimming lessons in North Vancouver. A life skill that A4K feels strongly about, Neptune helped enroll over 40 children into lessons in 2011 and that number will now increase again in 2012.
“Athletics for Kids is extremely excited to continue our partnership with Neptune Terminals. They are an excellent supporter of the North Shore community and their donations help us make sure that all North Shore kids have an opportunity to get in the pool and learn such an important life lesson such as swimming,” says A4K Executive Director Derek Mayson. ”With the 2012 Summer Games on the horizon, we want to be able to give every child the opportunity to try the sports their heroes are performing on TV in front of their nation.”
The beaches and lakes of British Columbia are what make this province the best place in the world to live and A4K believes that everyone should be able to enjoy this province to the fullest, confidently, comfortably and safely. Because learning how to swim is such an integral life skill in BC, Athletics for Kids funds 100 % of swim lesson fees compared to 80% for all other sports for families who cannot afford registration.
